Morgan Smith
A graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University as well as Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan began his career as a Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) in 2001. He made his debut on stage with the company as Donald in Billy Budd. Smith is known as a Seattle popular and has performed the roles in 12 different productions which include Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra and Count Alamaviva and Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. He is a regular performer on the stage for concerts and in the orchestra, Mr. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut with Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and was also featured in his orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral version of the adored piece by Brahms. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the agenda, along with the Requiems composed by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle masses by C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams and Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many Cantatas, as well as Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium.
